How to install the Retargeting.biz extension on your Magento platform?

To install the extension follow the instructions below:

1. Download Retargeting Extension installation package from Github

2. Using an FTP client (like FileZilla), upload the contents of the unzipped folder. These should go over your Magento directory: 'app' folder over 'app' folder and 'lib' over 'lib'. No files will be overwritten.

3. Log in to your Magento Store Admin, then go to System -> Cache Management, click on Select all, then Submit

4. Log out from the dashboard, then log in again

5. Go to System -> Configuration

6. Go to Retargeting Tracker Options, fill in your Tracking API key and REST API key, then click on Save config

Upgrading or removing Retargeting Tracker Extension installed using the Magento Connect Manager

You can reinstall, uninstall, upgrade the Retargeting Tracker Extension for which a new release has been issued.

To uninstall the extension:

1. Find the extension under the Manage Existing Connections section of Magento Connect Manager.

2. Use the drop down options under the actions column to select Uninstall.

3. Click on the Commit Changes button.

4. Refresh

To reinstall extension:

1. Find the extension under the Manage Existing Connections section of Magento Connect Manager.

2. Use the drop down options under the actions column to select Uninstall.

3. Click on the Commit Changes button.

4. Refresh

To upgrade extension:

1. Click Check for Upgrades button under the Manage Existing Connections section of Magento Connect Manager.

2. Find the extension under the Manage Existing Connections section of Magento Connect Manager.

3. If there is an upgrade available, the Retargeting Tracker row will be highlighted with light yellow color.

4. Use the drop down options under the actions column to select Upgrade to and select the latest version of Retargeting Tracker Module.

5. Click on the Commit Changes button.

6. Refresh

Installing Retargeting Extension downloaded directly from Retargeting website

1. Download and extract.

Download and unzip extension contents on your computer and navigate inside the extracted folder.

2. Upload files

2.1. Navigate inside extracted folder. Using your FTP client upload content of extracted folder to your site root.

2.2. Clear the cache under var/cache and login to your Magento Store Admin Panel.

Configuration

The extension’s settings are available via System -> Configuration -> Retargeting -> Retargeting Tracker Options

Setup Domain API Key

  • Go to your Retargeting.biz account
  • Get the Domain API Key from Settings -> Docs & API
  • Select & copy Retargeting API Key.
  • Go to your Magento Store Admin Panel -> System -> Configuration -> Retargeting -> Retargeting Tracker Options
  • Select Domain tab.
  • Paste Retargeting API Key.
  • Click Save Config button.

Setup Domain API Key

  • Go to your Retargeting.biz account
  • Get the Domain API Key from Settings -> Docs & API
  • Select & copy Retargeting API Key.
  • Go to your Magento Store Admin Panel -> System -> Configuration -> Retargeting -> Retargeting Tracker Options
  • Select Discount tab.
  • Paste Retargeting API Key.
  • Click Save Config button.

Setup Help Pages

  • Go to your Magento Store Admin Panel -> System -> Configuration -> Retargeting -> Retargeting Tracker Options
  • Select More tab.
  • Select all help pages of the site (e.g. Contact, FAQ, Help, How to Order?)
  • Click Save Config button.

Troubleshooting

After the extension installation the page System -> Configuration returns 404 error.

Logout from your Magento Store Admin Panel and login back again.

There is no Retargeting Tracker extension under my configuration section, or having extension tab clicked I get a blank page, or Access Denied error.

Clear the store cache, browser cookies, and logout then login again.
